DevOps Engineer Kubernetes (80-100%)

SIX Group AG in Zurich is looking for a motivated, talented, and experienced Platform Engineer, who is passionate about innovation, to help us build and run a highly efficient, scalable and automated API Management Platform for our services.


You will work within an international team that develops and maintains the API platform for multiple lines of business and act as an advocate for the API Management platform. You will work cross-functionally with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Service Managers across multiple teams in a rapidly evolving environment.


To be successful in this role, you have a background in automation and thrive working cross functionally in an Agile Team. You will drive and enforce standardization, simplification and scalability by taking over responsibility as DevOps, challenging the status quo, bringing in new ideas and solutions. The automation and platforms you will build, integrate and maintain will enable SIX and its partners to keep pace with constantly evolving business requirements. Home office is possible. 3 days a week.


What You Will Do

  • take the lead in enhancing and maintaining the development and operation of the API Management platform running on a Kubernetes environment
  • use your interpersonal skills to work very closely to shape the discussion with architecture, security, and the platform provisioning team to facilitate the best possible usage of our platform
  • improve engineering standards and drive continuous automation of processes and building and maintaining multi-stage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, Argo CD, Tekton, Ansible
  • participate in security assessments and audits
  • on-call duties and occasional participation in releases on the weekend (home office possible)

What You Bring

  • +3 years of practical experience, including having skills with and opinionated about containerization (OpenShift), infrastructure as code, and other cloud platform concepts
  • good understanding and practical experience of DevOps practices and automation frameworks as well as knowledge with the implementation of API service architectures (REST, microservices)
  • communicative team-player, able to coordinate, steer, and make decisions
  • knowledge in JAVA or Golang is a bonus as well as prior experience with any cloud native, incl. API management systems such as KONG, Apigee, or Axway
  • proficient at English both verbal and in writing, German would be a plus
